About the journal
A slower way to discover music.
MusicDose is an independent daily listening journal built around a simple limit: two records at a time.
Why two?
Discovery services are very good at producing an endless supply of possibilities. They are less good at creating attention. MusicDose chooses a small number of records and gives each one room for context, close listening, and a human response.
How albums are selected
The catalog is curated by hand across eras, regions, and styles. Daily selections balance mood, energy, accessibility, and adventurousness. No streaming account is required, and listening history remains in the visitor’s browser.
How the writing works
MusicDose descriptions are original critical syntheses informed by clearly attributed professional reviews. Sources are linked on every album page. We do not scrape or reproduce commercial review prose.
